WellSpring Hospice is now a supporter and partner of the “We Honor Veterans” program, a revolutionary campaign developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The initiative aims to collaborate with organizations to implement ongoing veteran-centered education for staff and volunteers in hopes of improving the level of care they provide to our nation’s bravest.
“We thank WellSpring Hospice for partnering in the We Honor Veterans program,” says NHPCO President & CEO Edo Banach. “We Honor Veterans partners are committed to providing quality veteran-centric care to the veteran patients they serve. They understand how a veteran’s military service, combat experience or other traumatic events, could impact their end-of-life experience.”
WellSpring Hospice’s participation in the program will not only reinforce its mission of serving the veteran community, but will offer the organization resources to integrate best practices for providing end-of-life care to veterans. By recognizing the unique needs of our nation’s veterans experiencing a life-limiting illness, WellSpring Hospice will be better equipped to help veterans and their families face the difficult road ahead.
